Letters from the Depression
Directions:
Imagine you are the woman in the picture below, during the Great
Depression. Write a letter as if you are
this woman. Write it to a family member
and discuss all of the problems we have talked about today. Share personal stories in this letter. DO NOT just mention the problem (for example,
do not just say “there is hunger”—talk about your struggles to find food—where
do you get it? How does that make you feel?
How much do you get to eat?).
Your letter should be about 1 page handwritten on a separate sheet!

I've been poor for a while now no money no house but i still have my loveing children and we all have to stay strong to survive this great depression my children tell me me there hungry every two minutes im assume of my life style
dear family,
i didnt want to get yall in my mess but we id going though a great depression. i have no where to live nothing to eat or drank. i have no more clothes to were. the great depression has put alot of people out of their homes. u dnt know how hard it is to find food , i have to ask people for food because i was trying to keep my house up to date an i was trying to keep clothes on me and my two kids like i dont think i can do oit any more. i lost my job so i dont have no money so to my family can u help use. the little money u send over is a big help to us.

I want you to know what things I go thru in this depression.Since WWI me and my kids and husband have little food.I just lost my job and my husband's job hs been laying people off to.It takes alot of money to get food.Since America stop buying stuff from us everything went major high.I just wish I could get out of here im so depressed here.We eat like once every other day sometimes twice but that rarley happens.

Dear Family,
I am very sorry to say but I am going though Great Depression.
the reason why I'm telling you guys is because I need ya'll help as soon as possible anything that ya'll sent us right now can help my two kids and my self buy food to eat and clothes to wear, and it can also help me apply for a job that can make Great Depression easy for my family and my self.
